The botanical garden, created by Léon Guignard, was born in 1884. Its primary purpose is to introduce future pharmacists to the plants that are important for therapeutics. While adapting to the evolution of studies, it has retained its charm of the 19th century.

Heiress of the School of Pharmacy which was created in 1803 and which settled avenue de l'Observatoire in 1882, the Faculty of Pharmacy of Paris houses, in its 34,000 m2, administrative and technical services, classrooms and practical work, 6 amphitheaters, a botanical garden of 3,436 m2, thirty laboratories and research teams, and an interuniversity pharmacy library with over 100,000 books and periodicals. More than 4,000 students are enrolled and 200 PhD students are trained in research and research.
