The Cathedral of the Resurrection is built by the architect Mario Botta from 1992 to 1995, at the initiative of the diocese of Corbeil-Essonnes to be inserted in the new city center of Evry. The roof receives a crown planted with 24 linden trees. The architect chooses a circular plan, symbol of gathering that evokes the shape of Byzantine buildings. It is also inspired by Romanesque churches of northern Italy: this building is built from a structure of 2 cylinders in nested concrete, covered with Toulouse bricks drawing patterns on the walls. The circular nave is covered with a triangulated metal structure surrounded by zenithal windows. Behind the altar, the bedside is pierced by a semi-circular bay furnished with a stained glass window designed by the architect, representing the tree of life. The ambulatory receives stained glass windows in twelve colors made by the Dominican father Kim En Joong. This cathedral is the only one built in France in the 20th century.
