Visit of the Laplagne park and its renovated rose garden
We invite you to discover the Laplagne park and its Roseraie, completely renovated and maintained by students, apprentices and trainees of gardeners-landscape. This place, where roses and white dominate, offers a harmony of colors and fragrances, lulled by the gentle murmur of water that flows from basin to basin between the rose bushes. A moment of tranquility in a soothing and historical setting, which has been reborn since 2017, just steps from Limoges.
Programme of visits:
Friday, June 5, 2026: two guided tours will be organized, at 2:00 PM and at 3:30 PM.
Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, 2026: the garden will be accessible for free visits, respecting the place.

A unique historical landscape heritage, the Roseraie des Vazeix was designed in 1924 by the landscaper Martial Faure-Laurent, at the request of the owner of the time Monsieur Laplagne. It is part of a landscaped park of the nineteenth already present surrounding, as a green setting, the castle of Vaseix in innovative style of art-deco inspiration that makes it virtually unique in France in its design. In 1942, the Laplagne family bequeathed the estate and its rose garden named «la petite Malmaison des limousins» to the Ministry of Agriculture. In 2016, a steering committee is created to reflect on the restoration of this forgotten site with the aim of preserving and enhancing the historical landscape heritage in the form of a school site entirely conducted with gardener learners (students, trainees or apprentices) and their trainers under the aegis of the School of the planetary garden of Gilles Clément. This action is supported by the CFPPA (Training Center) of Vaseix with the support
