If there is one place above all others associated with children's stories, it is the forest. Schumann and Ravel, both excellent musical narrators of these universal tales, are brought together in this concert based on stories: those of Ravel's Ma mère l'Oye and Schumann's forest scenes (Waldszenen). In this wooded world, birdsong flits lightly through the air. Messiaen's Oiseaux exotiques and Ravel's Piano Concerto in G major are a natural addition to this concert.

S’il est bien un lieu entre tous associé aux contes pour enfants, c’est la forêt. Excellents narrateurs en musique de ces histoires universelles, Schumann et Ravel sont réunis dans ce concert autour de contes : ceux de Ma mère l’Oye de Ravel ainsi que les tableaux forestiers de Schumann (Waldszenen). Dans cet univers boisé, les gazouillis d’oiseaux virevoltent avec légèreté. S’ajoutent tout naturellement à ce concert les Oiseaux exotiques de Messiaen et le Concerto en sol pour piano de Ravel.
