Welcome to the Archives départementales du Calvados!

What is kept, why and how? What is the purpose of the archives? Who comes to consult them?
Your class will be divided into two groups. You and your students will learn how this heritage place works. You will have access to spaces usually closed to the public and exceptional original documents.
After your registration, an archivist will contact you to prepare the visit. You will be able to adapt this discovery trip to your expectations, including in connection with the school program.
Namely:
- Each visit lasts about 1h30. The schedules can be adapted to the teacher’s request.
- The activity requires the support of teachers (2 minimum).
- For booking, please attach the list of participants.
- Personal effects (coats and other) will be deposited in a closed room.
