The Digital Alfieri project, based to the Institute of Texts and Modern Manuscripts (ITEM) has as objective promotion(valuation) and exploitation(operation) of the literary archives of the Piedmontese writer Vittorio Alfieri (1749-1803). The stake in project is to make available of the researchers the digital facsimiles of manuscripts and of annotated books having belonged to the writer, to study genetic relations.
Only a digital environment allows to gather(collect) these archives, burst between Italy and France: most manuscripts and books(pounds) having belonged in Alfieri are indeed in Florence (Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana), Asti (Fondazione "Centro di Studi Alfieriani"), Montpellier (Central Media library of Town(Conglomeration) "Émile Zola") and Paris (Library(Bookcase) of the Institute of France and Library(Bookcase) Mazarine). The digital edition(publishing) of the literary archives of Vittorio Alfieri is realised as part of the project of Edition(Publishing) of Manuscripts and Digital Archives of ENS (EMAN), a digital platform which federates several projects of edition(publishing): thanks to EMAN, it is possible to index contents of the archives of Alfieri, to question these archives in a sequential way. It is so possible to propose genetic routes(courses) across the manuscripts of Alfieri, and to explore genetic relations between its manuscripts and its books: the latter(these last), interspersed with glosses, tracks of reading and annotations, are essential for the genetic study of its works, implicit interlocutors, intellectual stakes and especially literary and philosophical sources of which they reveal.
This important scientific project putting in link of the French and Italian institutions for promotion(valuation) and study of a common(shared) heritage was supported by two European stock exchanges(grants) of mobility and of research(search) (Fernand Braudel IFER – Incoming in 2016 and Marie Skłodowska-Curie in 2017-2018), obtained as part of a partnership between ITEM, Paris 3 university – New Sorbonne and the Foundation "Centro di Studi Alfieriani" of Asti (Italy), project obtained the labelling of the Consortium Corpus of Authors for the Digital humanities: Computerisation, Edition(Publishing), Research(Search) (EXERCISE BOOKS).
