Exhibition at La Cheminée: «200 years of building stories»
The story of a building in the Madeleine district, first intended for an inn, then transformed into a hat shop at the end of the 19th century, then a car body shop just after the Second World War…
In the courtyard of No. 5 of Sainte Marie Street remains the last witness of the hatmaker activity of Albi: an industrial brick fireplace. The building now houses a contemporary art gallery.
The exhibition presents a model, illustrations, plans, photos and old documents that trace the evolution of the activities and the place.
In parallel to the «heritage» exhibition, you can discover, from September 12 to October 6, the works of Patricia Calvayrac, artist and resident of the Madeleine district.
The place is accessible to people with reduced mobility. For people with other types of disabilities (physical, auditory, visual, and psychic), you can report it at the entrance, a person from the team will accompany you to offer you an adapted visit.
