Part 1: Bonaparte’s youth (3H51, VO)
Discover this masterwork projected for the first time since 1927! A constant object of fascination, shot by a visionary who wanted to reinvent cinema, Napoleon is a cursed epic of extraordinary duration, an experimental monument to power and crazy inventiveness. The audacity and mastery, the genius and the nerve of impossible scenes with parallel montages, triptychs, attempts of superposition and echoes have become unforgettable... A fresco between the grandiose and the intimate, not devoid of humor, where one shivers and the throat tightens. A masterpiece ab-so-lu.
Before the film, presentation by a film historian. Part 2 broadcast on Sunday, September 22 at 6:15 pm!

Le Trianon cinema, in Romainville in Seine-Saint-Denis, was for many years the setting of the show «la Dernière Séance» hosted by Eddy Mitchell. Rebuilt in 1953 after the bombings of the Second World War by the architect Charles Genêtre, it was classified as an additional inventory of historical monuments. With its steamer shape and vintage sets, it now programs art and essay films, cinematographic heritage as well as the best commercial films. Last year it had 68,000 admissions.
