François Willème ist ein kompletter Künstler, sowohl Fotograf, Bildhauer und Maler. Die vom Verein Urbi & Orbi mit Unterstützung der Abteilung für Kulturerbe und der Gesellschaft für Geschichte und Archäologie des Sedanais organisierte Ausstellung ermöglicht es, diese verschiedenen Aspekte seiner Arbeit zu entdecken. Die Ausstellung beleuchtet insbesondere die Arbeit von François Willème als Fotograf für die Stadt Sedan in den 1870er Jahren. Der Künstler wurde vom damaligen Bürgermeister Auguste Philippoteaux gerufen, um die Zerstörung der Stadtmauern und den Bau der neuen Stadt zu fotografieren, die von ihren imposanten Befestigungsanlagen befreit war.

François Willème is a complete artist, both photographer, sculptor and painter. The exhibition organized by the association Urbi & Orbi with the support of the Department of Heritage and the Society of History and Archaeology of Sedan allows to discover these different aspects of his work. The exhibition particularly highlights the work of François Willème as a photographer for the city of Sedan in the 1870s. The artist is called by the mayor of the time Auguste Philippoteaux to photograph the destruction of the ramparts and the construction of the new city, freed from its imposing fortifications.

La mostra organizzata dall'associazione Urbi & Orbi con il sostegno del Servizio del Patrimonio e della Società di Storia e Archeologia del Sedanese permette di scoprire questi diversi aspetti del suo lavoro. La mostra mette in luce in particolare il lavoro di François Willème come fotografo per la città di Sedan negli anni 1870. L'artista è chiamato dal sindaco dell'epoca Augusto Filippoteaux per fotografare la distruzione delle mura e la costruzione della città nuova, liberata dalle sue imponenti fortificazioni.
