On the occasion of the Nuit de la lecture 2020, Chandeigne & les éditions À Propos are launching their Notre Ve du livre card which proposes their subjective list (but assumed!) of forty places related to books and knowledge in the district.
We propose you a traveling evening in five of the listed places map in hand. The main theme of the evening, it will allow everyone to orient themselves to the various activities offered, from the Irish Cultural Centre to the Portuguese and Brazilian Bookstore, from the Pierre-Gilles de Gennes Space, at the Chandeigne-À Propos bookstore, where the evening will end. And also in the salon of hairdresser Claude Ferron!
At Claude’s, we get our hair done in full light, ears rocked by ambient music, from Keith Jarrett to Alexandre Tharaud, and by the cultural councils, exhibitions and especially reading, ranging from a thriller to Yiddish literature, to essays and scientific literature.
From 6.30 pm, it is up to you, in the shade of candles, to discover the nuggets of Claude’s library. Reading excerpts and anecdotes from the reader-hairdresser will say how much the book is at the origin of beautiful encounters.
Remember to “stamp” your copy: a small gift will be given at the end of the evening (appointment at 10 rue de Tournefort at 7:15 pm) to those who have participated in three of the five events proposed.
