After the success of I’m leaving but the state remains, Hugues Duchêne continues in a politico-theatrical vein, between biting lucidity and collective energy. This new play has a clear ambition: to look the future straight in the eyes in order to better grasp the present. In three movements, the show goes through fifty years of French anticipation. Hugues Duchêne deploys a "political science-fiction", following the ordinary destiny of a jurist tossed by history. The tone alternates theater-narrative, farce and melancholy. We laugh a lot because anxiety is taken seriously. True to the spirit of the Royal Velours, this show puts speech at the center of the game. A way of reminding us that theatre remains an excellent means of resistance.

Après le succès de Je m’en vais mais l’État demeure, Hugues Duchêne poursuit dans une veine politico-théâtrale, entre lucidité mordante et énergie collective. Cette nouvelle pièce assume une ambition claire : regarder l’avenir droit dans les yeux pour mieux appréhender le présent. En trois mouvements, le spectacle traverse cinquante ans d’anticipation française. Hugues Duchêne y déploie une « science politique-fiction », en suivant le destin ordinaire d’un juriste balloté par l’histoire. Le ton alterne théâtre-récit, farce et mélancolie. On rit beaucoup car l’angoisse est prise au sérieux. Fidèle à l’esprit du Royal Velours, ce spectacle place la parole au centre du jeu. Une manière de rappeler que le théâtre reste un excellent moyen de résister.

Na het succes van je go but the State blijft, gaat Hugues Duchene verder in een politiek-theatrale ader, tussen bijtende helderheid en collectieve energie. Dit nieuwe stuk gaat uit van een duidelijke ambitie: De toekomst recht in het oog kijken om het heden beter te begrijpen. In drie delen gaat de show door vijftig jaar Franse anticipatie. Hugues Duchene voert een "politieke science-fiction" uit, naar het gewone lot van een jurist die door de geschiedenis is opgeworpen. De toon wisselt theater-verhaal, farce en melancholie. We lachen veel omdat angst serieus wordt genomen. In deze show, die trouw is aan de geest van Royal Velours, staat spraak centraal in het spel. Een manier om te onthouden dat theater blijft een uitstekende manier om weerstand te bieden.
