In 1876, an international conference was held in Brussels that set Europe on the path to colonising the Congo. In 2026, a round-table discussion was held in Kinshasa between Congolese authorities and European embassies to rebalance bilateral relations, 150 years after the events. This event formed part of the launch ceremony for a collective Afro-European publication, which examines the colonial origins of the modern-day Congo. En 1876, se tint à Bruxelles une Conférence internationale qui lança l’Europe dans la colonisation du Congo. En 2026, s’est tenue à Kinshasa une table ronde entre autorités congolaises et ambassades européennes pour rééquilibrer les rapports bilatéraux, 150 ans après les faits. Cet événement s’est inscrit dans la cérémonie de baptême d’un ouvrage collectif afro-européen, qui revient sur les origines coloniales du Congo actuel.
