On February 13, at 3:59 a.m., asteroid 2023 CX1 entered Earth's atmosphere, seven hours after being discovered. For two weeks, a team of researchers from the FRIPON/Vigie-Ciel program, enthusiasts, and volunteers of all ages went into the field near the village of Saint-Pierre-le-Viger in Seine-Maritime to find meteorites that had survived the small asteroid's entry into the atmosphere.

Le 13 février dernier, à 03h 59min, l’astéroïde 2023 CX1 pénétrait dans l’atmosphère terrestre, 7 heures après avoir été découvert. Pendant 2 semaines, une équipe constituée de chercheurs du programme FRIPON/Vigie-Ciel, de passionnés et de volontaires de tous les âges se rendait sur le terrain, à proximité du village de Saint-Pierre-le- Viger en Seine Maritime, afin de retrouver des météorites ayant survécu à l’entrée atmosphérique du petit astéroïde.
Retour sur une mission hors norme pour un caillou extraordinaire.
