This garden was laid out on the property of the Countess Anna de Noailles in 1878, whose previous owner was the Count of Beaumont. The park occupied only one part of the current area. In 1898, the surrounding orchards and vegetable gardens were integrated into the estate.
The landscape architect Henri Martinet then redesigned the park in an English style around the Winter Palace (today the Palais Beaumont) with its paths that converge towards the kiosk, the pond, the Pyrenean garden, the stream and its green rooms all around. The suppression of car traffic on the avenue Anna de Noailles in 1999, during the renovation of the Palais Beaumont, was a major act that allowed to partially restore the entity of the park. In 2003, the park is extended in front of the hotel inaugurated in August 2004\. It has a good number of statues.
The park is remarkable for the diversity and the great development of the trees. All the great representatives of the vegetal exoticism introduced in the 19th century are there: sequoias, cedars of the Himalayas, trees of Judea, bald cypress, catalpa, paulownia, araucarias, magnolias. Without forgetting the Pyrenean flora and more recent curiosities like the tortuous sophora or the weeping cedar...
