Im Herzen der Stadt gelegen, ist das Lieu d'Art et Action Contemporaine mit seinem von dem Landschaftsgärtner Gilbert Samel entworfenen Skulpturengarten eine wahre urbane Oase der Ruhe.
Das Gebäude, das mit weißen Keramikfliesen verkleidet ist und vom Architekten Jean Willerval entworfen wurde, zeichnet sich durch seine geometrische Gestaltung aus. Seine dreieckigen Buchten, Symbole der Krane der Dunkerque-Werften, stehen im Dialog mit etwa fünfzehn Werken, die im Park verstreut sind und an die Landschaft und die lokale Geschichte anknüpfen: ein Museum für zeitgenössische Kunst in einer modernen und rekonstruierten Stadt.
Im Juli 2023 wurden das LAAC-Gebäude und der Skulpturengarten mit dem Label Bemerkenswerte zeitgenössische Architektur ausgezeichnet, um ihre architektonische Originalität und Innovation hervorzuheben.

Remarkable and noticeable architecture
Nestled in the heart of the city, the Lieu d'Art et Action Contemporaine is a true urban haven with its sculpture garden designed by landscape architect Gilbert Samel.
The building, covered with white ceramic tiles and designed by architect Jean Willerval, is distinguished by its geometric design. Its triangular bays, symbols of the cranes of the Dunkirk shipyards, interact with about fifteen works scattered throughout the park, echoing the landscape and local history: a museum of contemporary art in a modern and reconstructed city.
In July 2023, the LAAC building and the sculpture garden received the Remarkable Contemporary Architecture label, highlighting their originality and architectural innovation.
