Jevištní adaptace nejčtenější české klasiky. Sbírka balad vyšla poprvé v roce 1853 pod názvem Kytice z pověstí národních a šlo o jedinou sbírku básní, kterou Karel Jaromír Erben (1811–1870) vydal. Byla inspirována českými lidovými pověstmi a báchorkami a již v době svého vzniku slavila úspěch a ovlivnila mnoho umělců.

The most popular of the Czech classics was adapted for the stage. First published in 1853, under the title A Bouquet of Czech Folk Tales, it was the one and only collection of poems by Karel Jaromír Erben (1811–1870). Inspired by Czech legends and tall stories, it garnered success back at the time of publication and went on to influence numerous artists.

L’un des classiques tchèques les plus populaires a été adapté pour la scène. Publié pour la première fois en 1853 sous le titre Un bouquet de contes populaires tchèques, il s’agissait de la seule et unique collection de poèmes de Karel Jaromír Erben (1811–1870). Inspiré par les légendes et les histoires extraordinaires tchèques, ce recueil connut un grand succès dès sa publication et continua d’influencer de nombreux artistes.
