Explore the village of Montricoux, famous for its concentration of half-timbered houses, through different viewpoints. AGIT’s guide-lecturer will introduce you to the secrets of building these medieval houses still intact and the history of the village. Mr. Danis will talk about renovation projects, while an inhabitant of a half-timbered house will explain to us how life is in this type of building.
The walk will end with a small snack of local products offered in collaboration with the village merchants.

In the Gorges de l'Aveyron, nature did things well: between Saint-Antonin Noble Val and Montricoux, the river carved limestone, sculpting gorges with steep cliffs. Since prehistoric times, man has lived in this region: many caves have preserved his traces. The Gorges of the Aveyron, it’s nature... nature. And, in the old villages like Montricoux, under the shadow of castles and dungeons, the old houses remember the prosperity of yesterday. The ancient castle of Montricoux keeps some traces of the Templars who created it. It once belonged to Sully. It now houses the Marcel-Lenoir museum, a renowned painter of the 19th and 20th centuries, former figure of Montparnasse where he frequented Modigliani and Fernand Léger. Marcel Lenoir came to retire at the end of his life in Montricoux where he died in 1931\. Today, the Gorges de l'Aveyron are a paradise for nature sports enthusiasts: canoeing, climbing, hiking or horseback riding, mountain biking and speleology are their favorite activities
