Renaissance style castle built in the first half of the 16th century by Jacques Richard Gourdon de Genouillac, known as "Galiot", artillery master of Louis XII and François I. Placed just upstream of the loss of the stream of Assier, the mill is probably built during the first phase of construction of the neighboring Renaissance castle, on the site of the old medieval mill, between 1515 and 1524\. The single-storey building is made of stone. On the ground floor, the grindstone room has a 16th century ashlar fireplace; still in place, the four pairs of grindstones and their little-used mechanisms date from a late modernization around 1880, just as, in the basement, the four metal wheels, and, upstairs, remains of corner references that were used in particular to turn a sawmill outside the mill. The mill stopped in 1914\. The State has owned it since 1934.
