Discovery of the medieval heritage of Aubinois

Come discover the history of the old village of Aubin «at the end of the city» during a festive and cultural weekend!
On the program: Saturday, visits free all day of the Strong, of the chapelle Saint Amans and of the chapel of Pouzet (miraculous!). Visit guided from the top of the city at 2 PM. Sunday, visits free all day like the day before, and guided of the church Notre Dame d'Aubin at 10am.
Saturday afternoon and evening, musical entertainment with troubadours, conference and questions about the troubadours, torchlight retreat in music with Les Dragons du Corny in the evening, departure in front of the town hall at 9 PM, arrival at the foot of the chapel of the Fort.
Gourmet market on Sunday morning in old Aubin, with baptisms in side-car !
On site also: refreshment bar (softs and alcohols) and 100% local snacks with cooking in the old Fort oven : sale of oil pumps, toast, etc.

Perched on its rocky promontory, Fort d'Aubin has watched over the city since 193 A.D. J.-C. The legend attributes its construction to a Roman general Claudius Albinus. Occupied as early as the 10th century by the lords of Albin, today only the Romanesque church of Saint-Amans and the defence tower remain. Recent archaeological excavations have uncovered the remains of a seigneurial home and several dwellings. In the nineteenth century were added a Way of the Cross, a Calvary and a statue of the virgin with the child. The old town with its medieval streets has preserved a 14th century grain hall and its 5 grain bars, a testimony of its commercial power, as well as half-timbered houses and a bread oven.
