On September 17, 1988, EMC – Espace Marcel Carné was inaugurated in the presence of one of the best pre-war directors, filmmaker Marcel Carné. The building was designed by the duo of architects, also famous, “Fabre et Perrottet”. They were part of a process of democratization of access to culture: They revolutionized French theaters by removing the symbols of Italian theater that operated class distinctions.
