Durch eine Auswahl alter und objektbezogener Werke laden die Stadt Schiltigheim, die Mediathek Frida Kahlo und der Verein Mémoire et Patrimoine das Publikum ein, einen Teil der Geschichte Schiltigheims wiederzuentdecken: sein gastronomisches Erbe. Obwohl die Stadt oft mit ihren Brauereien in Verbindung gebracht wird, war sie auch ein wichtiger Ort für die Produktion von Foie gras, vertreten durch Auguste Michel, einen Fabrikanten, Gastronom und Mäzen. Im Mittelpunkt dieser Präsentation steht eine für Auguste Michel angefertigte und von dem Künstler Charles Spindler dekorierte Foie gras-Terrine, die die engen Verbindungen zwischen Lebensmittelindustrie, künstlerischem Schaffen und Tischkultur bei den Treffen des Kunschthafe offenbart. Die ausgestellten Werke zeugen von der Entstehung der Gastronomie als Lebenskunst im 19. Jahrhundert. (Unter ihnen nimmt Brillat-Savarins Physiologie des Geschmacks einen grundlegenden Platz in der französischen gastronomischen Literatur ein, und es ist seine Fortsetzung, dass sich das Manuel des Amphitryons von Auguste Michel einfügt.)
Diese Ausstellung ist von Dienstag, den 15. September bis Samstag, den 03. Oktober während der Öffnungszeiten der Mediathek zu sehen.

Through a selection of old books and objects, the City of Schiltigheim, the Media Library Frida Kahlo and the association Memory and Heritage invite the public to rediscover a part of Schilikoise’s history: its gastronomic heritage. If the city is often associated with its breweries, it was also a mecca of foie gras production, represented by Auguste Michel, manufacturer, gastronome and patron. At the heart of this presentation, a terrine of foie gras made for Auguste Michel and decorated by the artist Charles Spindler reveals the close links that united food industry, artistic creation and table culture during the meetings of the Kunschthafe. The works on display bear witness to the emergence of gastronomy as a way of life in the 19th century. (Among them, La Physiologie du goût de Brillat-Savarin holds a founding place in French gastronomic literature and it is in its continuation that Le Manuel des Amphitryons by Auguste Michel.)

Attraverso una selezione di opere antiche e d'oggetto, la città di Schiltigheim, la Mediateca Frida Kahlo e l'associazione Memoria e Patrimonio invitano il pubblico a riscoprire un pan della storia scilicosiana: il suo patrimonio gastronomico. Se la città è spesso associata alle sue birrerie, fu anche un centro di produzione di foie gras, rappresentato da Auguste Michel, produttore, gastronomo e mecenate. Al centro di questa presentazione, una terrina di foie gras realizzata per Auguste Michel e decorata dall'artista Charles Spindler rivela gli stretti legami che uniscono l'industria alimentare, la creazione artistica e la cultura della tavola durante gli incontri del Kunschthafe. Le opere esposte testimoniano l'emergere della gastronomia come arte di vivere nel XIX secolo. (Tra questi, La Physiologie du goût di Brillat-Savarin occupa un posto fondamentale nella letteratura gastronomica francese ed è nella sua continuazione che si iscrive il Manuel des Amphitryons di Auguste Michel.)

À travers une sélection d'ouvrages anciens et d’objet, La Ville de Schiltigheim, la Médiathèque Frida Kahlo et l’association Mémoire et Patrimoine invitent le public à redécouvrir un pan de l'histoire schilikoise : son patrimoine gastronomique. Si la ville est souvent associée à ses brasseries, elle fut également un haut lieu de la production de foie gras, représentée par Auguste Michel, fabricant, gastronome et mécène. Au cœur de cette présentation, une terrine de foie gras réalisée pour Auguste Michel et décorée par l'artiste Charles Spindler révèle les liens étroits qui unissaient industrie alimentaire, création artistique et culture de la table lors des rencontres du Kunschthafe. Les ouvrages exposés témoignent de l'émergence de la gastronomie comme art de vivre au XIXe siècle. En el centro de esta presentación, una terrina de foie gras realizada para Auguste Michel y decorada por el artista Charles Spindler revela los estrechos vínculos que unían la industria alimentaria, la creación artística y la cultura de la mesa durante las reuniones del Kunschthafe. Las obras expuestas dan testimonio del surgimiento de la gastronomía como arte de vivir en el siglo XIX.
