National Archaeological Museum of Pontecagnano "The frontier Etruscans"
From Friday 12 to Sunday 14 June 2026: An exceptional burial from Pontecagnano
The Archaeological Museum of Pontecagnano offers for this three days a rich program of activities aimed at a wide audience, promoting the dissemination of archaeological research, sharing practices and results with the local community, associations and families, in the perspective of a living and participatory experience.
From 12 to 14 June, during the usual opening hours of the Museum, the public will be able to admire on display for the first time an exceptional burial, of a woman of high rank who lived more than 2600 years ago, found in XVIII Giugno street, at the center of Pontecagnano Faiano. The woman displayed a rich set of bronze jewelry, whose arrangement allows the reconstruction of the funerary clothing, while the set of vases, collected in nuclei, reflects a precise functional and ritual logic.
