Ephemeral Captures Exhibition:

«Reflections of the Savannah: Tribes and Wildlife of Kenya»

Photographer Jean-Yves Caillot had the opportunity during his life to travel and live in many countries on all continents.
His approach is to capture the authenticity of the people and culture of each country he discovers.
Black and white, this aesthetic choice, is not trivial. It allows reducing the world to its essentials, eliminating superfluities to focus on raw emotion and the beauty of forms.
It is not the photo technique that matters but the sensitivity with which human emotions are captured in their spontaneity, by surprise and without alteration.
Photography cannot change the world but it can humbly bear witness to human reality in its environment.
The exhibition "Reflections of the Savannah - Tribes and Wildlife of Kenya" is the result of many years spent in Kenya from 1986 to 2006, particularly in the north of the country Samburu and near Lake Turkana.
The many tribes, Samburu, Rendile, Turkana, Pokot live in the savannah among wild animals.
This exhibition reflects life in this part of the world which remains a legacy of our natural heritage.

Housed in the former studio of sculptor Gustave Germain (1843-1909), Atelier Gustave is a Parisian exhibition space with a unique atmosphere, located between the Jardin du Luxembourg and rue Daguerre, a stone’s throw from the Fondation Cartier for contemporary art.
Since 1997, we have welcomed artists from a variety of backgrounds, both contemporary and more traditional. From the official painters of the navy André Hamburg and Michel Bernard to the Japanese Iyama Tadayuki to the Togolese Sokey Edorh, l'Atelier Gustave has seen artists from many countries with very different styles, but still having in common the passion for art.
