The museum allows you to discover the evolution of the life of a village from the end of the 18th century until the 1920s. Through 45 rooms an evocation of the peasant and artisanal life of a village in the nineteenth century: The forge, the work of hemp, the potter's workshop... And community places: School, grocery store, coffee, carnival... more surprising rooms present folk medicine, the presence of wolves, smugglers of matches or alcohol....a room traces the departure of Chanitois in Mexico in the mid-19th century and evokes the persistence of links between the state of Vera-Cruz and the department of Haute-Saone. The historic rooms, the lounges and in particular that of the panoramic wallpapers, recounting Captain Cook's travels in the Pacific, allow to plunge back into the nobiliary atmosphere of the eighteenth century. Under the Orangery of the castle was built the museum of the vine and presses evoking the tradition of the Chantean vineyard, enriched with Burgundy and Champagne presses.
