Living, resisting and thinking about freedom in times of war Inaugurated in 1990, this museum offers a sensitive and documented immersion into the period of the Second World War, from the pre-war to the Liberation. Through an evocative scenography, close to film sets, it restores the daily life of the French under the Occupation, between constraints, adaptations and hopes. The course continues with a section dedicated to the Resistance in Vaucluse, which highlights the diversity of routes and commitments. It allows a better understanding of the deep motivations of those who have chosen to resist, often at the risk of their lives. Finally, the space entitled La Liberté de l'esprit invites a broader reflection on the values carried by the Resistance. It explores its heritages, teachings and universal scope, in resonance with contemporary issues. As a place of memory and questioning, the museum thus offers a lively and accessible look at this essential period in our history.
