Local history: great figures and traditions of the department of Eure. Selection of objects evoking Évreux through the ages. Works of religious character: alabasters, tapestries of Aubusson, furniture... Archaeology: a part of the wall of the ancient city. The presentation is organized around four chronological units: prehistoric, protohistorical, gallo-roman and merovingian. It illustrates the human occupation of the region through some major themes: exchanges, religion, daily life. The collection of Roman bronzes is particularly remarkable. Most of the exhibits were found during excavations in the department, at Évreux itself and on the site of Vieil-Évreux. Painting, ceramics and furniture from the 17th and 18th centuries: several salons are reconstructed in order to revive the works in their context. Thus the yellow room is mainly devoted to the Louis XVI style and the green room (Louis XV) is decorated with wood panelling of the castle of Navarre. Watch collection. 20th century co
