Flumet ( from the Latin flumen , flots ), located at the crossroads of several watercourses, owes its rise to this key position of opening on different valleys . The Romans created roads there, the lords of the Middle Ages were interested in it to make a toll village.
The rivalry between the lords of Faucigny and the dukes, then counts of Savoy will make of Flumet a fortified village, whose archaeological testimonies, which are proposed to the visit, are numerous: ruins of the castle-fort, suspended houses, church St Théodule.
