Am 15. Juli 1993 wurde die Via Palestro in Mailand von der sizilianischen Mafia angegriffen, wobei der Padiglione d'Arte Contemporanea und die Galleria d'Arte Moderna schwer beschädigt wurden. Als Antwort darauf entwirft der italienische Künstler Maurizio Cattelan Lullaby: eine Übertragung der Trümmer in die Erinnerung. Das Werk, das für den Künstler "ein Symbol eines kollektiven Traumas" verkörpert, hinterfragt die Verletzlichkeit kultureller Orte und die politische Tragweite der Bewahrung.
Diese Konferenz bietet eine detaillierte Fallstudie der jüngsten Wiederherstellung von Lullaby. Ausgehend vom technischen Dossier und den methodischen Entscheidungen werden wir auf die ethischen, historischen und ästhetischen Aspekte des Eingriffs zurückkommen: Bewahrung der Spur und der Absicht ohne Auslöschen der Verletzung; Entscheiden zwischen Stabilisierung und Wiederherstellung, um das Publikum schließlich in das materielle Gedächtnis einzubinden.
Die restaurierte Lullaby wird ausnahmsweise anlässlich der Europäischen Tage des Kulturerbes und des Matrimoine präsentiert.

On 15 July 1993, the Via Palestro in Milan was the target of an attack perpetrated by the Sicilian mafia which severely damaged the Padiglione d'Arte Submergency and the Galleria d'Arte Moderna. In response, the Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan designs Lullaby: a transposition of rubble into memory. The work, which embodies for the artist "a symbol of collective trauma," questions the vulnerability of cultural sites and the political significance of conservation.
This conference offers an in-depth case study of the recent restoration of Lullaby. From the technical file and methodological choices, we will return to the ethical, historical, and aesthetic issues of intervention: preserving trace and intention without erasing the wound; decide between stabilization and restitution to finally engage the audience in material memory.
Lullaby restored will be presented exceptionally on the occasion of the European Days of Heritage and Matrimony.

Il 15 luglio 1993, via Palestro a Milano subì un attentato della mafia siciliana che danneggiò gravemente il Padiglione d'Arte Contemporanea e la Galleria d'Arte Moderna. In risposta, l'artista italiano Maurizio Cattelan progetta Lullaby: una trasposizione delle macerie nella memoria. L'opera che per l'artista rappresenta "un simbolo di un trauma collettivo", interroga la vulnerabilità dei luoghi culturali e la portata politica della conservazione.
Questa conferenza offre un caso di studio approfondito del recente restauro di Lullaby. Sulla base del dossier tecnico e delle scelte metodologiche, ritorneremo sugli aspetti etici, storici ed estetici dell'intervento: preservare la traccia e l'intenzione senza cancellare la ferita; decidere tra stabilizzazione e restituzione per coinvolgere infine il pubblico nella memoria materiale.
Lullaby restaurata sarà presentata eccezionalmente in occasione delle Giornate europee del patrimonio e del matrimonio.

Cette conférence propose une étude de cas approfondie de la récente restauration de Lullaby. À partir du dossier technique et des choix méthodologiques nous reviendrons sur les enjeux éthiques, historiques et esthétiques de l’intervention : préserver la trace et l’intention sans effacer la blessure ; décider entre stabilisation et restitution pour finalement engager le public dans la mémoire matérielle.
Lullaby restaurée sera présentée exceptionnellement à l’occasion des Journées européennes du patrimoine et du matrimoine.

Esta conferencia propone un estudio de caso detallado de la reciente restauración de Lullaby. A partir del dossier técnico y de las opciones metodológicas volveremos sobre los desafíos éticos, históricos y estéticos de la intervención: preservar la huella y la intención sin borrar la herida; decidir entre estabilización y restitución para finalmente comprometer al público en la memoria material.
Lullaby restaurada será presentada excepcionalmente con ocasión de las Jornadas europeas del patrimonio y del matrimonio.
