Open on the place de la Guierle, space for walking and fair gained on the marshes, this long building combines the architecture of a garden pavilion with the sculpted decor of a theater. The architect Louis Bonnay built a first ground floor, pierced by thirteen arched bays on the facade and back, accessible by a wide staircase and a terrace. From its facade, the building’s vocation is affirmed: to offer a refined decor for the beautiful society that comes to see and be seen. In 1912, a floor is added by the architect François Macary, expanding the entertainment offer with game rooms. The same white limestone is preserved and lends itself to the carved decoration of laurel branches, crowns of the poets. The central pavilion adopts a mansard roof while the two lateral wings deploy in roof terrace. Its primary role as a theatre, well engraved at the top of the central arch, like the names of great authors between the bays, was however set aside in the thirties, with its transformation int
