François Rabelais soll 1483 oder 1494 in La Devinière nahe Chinon geboren worden sein. Als Arzt und humanistischer Schriftsteller der französischen Renaissance machte er die chinonische Landschaft zum bevorzugten Schauplatz der Leiden seiner Helden Gargantua und Pantagruel. Der Besuch stellt die Orte wieder her, die er zweifellos kannte und feiert den Abdruck, den diese berühmte Persönlichkeit auf dem Gebiet hinterlassen hat, das heute seinen Namen trägt: die Rabelaisie.

Doctor and humanist writer of the French Renaissance, he made the landscape of Chinon the privileged setting of the tribulations of his heroes Gargantua and Pantagruel. The visit reconstructs the places he undoubtedly knew and celebrates the imprint left by this famous character on the territory to which he gives his name today: Rabelaisie.

Medico e scrittore umanista del Rinascimento francese, fa del paesaggio cinese lo scenario privilegiato delle tribolazioni dei suoi eroi Gargantua e Pantagruel. La visita ricostruisce i luoghi che probabilmente ha conosciuto e celebra l'impronta lasciata da questo famoso personaggio sul territorio a cui dà oggi il nome: la Rabelaisie.
