The community of missionary benedictines, founded in 1921 by Sister Bénédicte Waddington-Delmas, settled in 1928 in Vanves. A first project is commissioned to the Perret brothers, who only carry out a building on the rue d'Issy. The construction of the monastery was finally entrusted to the Benedictine monk and architect Dom Bellot, and resumed in 1934\. This one designs a building of four levels for eighty nuns and forty guests at the origin, which takes up the traditional plan of conventual buildings in wings organized around a cloister. The buildings are built in concrete and brick, characteristic material of the architecture of Dom Bellot. The concrete beams are left exposed while the arches of ogive or semi-circular arches, present in many parts of the monastery are covered with bricks.
