Das Palais de Tokyo bietet die erste Retrospektive von Cathy de Monchaux, einer bedeutenden Figur der britischen Kunstszene, in einer Sammlung von etwa 50 Werken aus dem Jahr 1984 bis heute an.
Die Ausstellung zwingt uns zwischen epidermalen Begierden und Gefahren, verleitet uns an den Orientierungspunkten, insbesondere der Phallocratie der philosophischen und künstlerischen Sprache. Sie bietet auch ein Spiel von Dimensionen, vom Intimen bis zum Demonstrativen, und von Materialien, vom Korn des Samtes bis zum Eismittel des Metalls. Die Arbeit von Cathy de Montchaux verführt sowohl Formen als auch Emotionen, bis sie diesen Geschmack in unserem Auge hinterlässt: den des Metalls unter der Zunge, wo man sogar innehalten kann.

The Palais de Tokyo presents the first retrospective of Cathy de Monchaux, a major figure in the British art scene, through an ensemble of about fifty works dating from 1984 to today.
The exhibition pulls us between desires and epidermal dangers, misuses landmarks, in particular the phallocracy of philosophical and artistic language. It also offers a play of dimensions, from the intimate to the demonstrative, and materials, from the grain of velvet to the chilling of metal. The work of Cathy de Montchaux mixes forms and emotions until leaving this taste in our eye: that of metal under the tongue, where we can even gather.

Il Palais de Tokyo propone la prima retrospettiva di Cathy de Monchaux, figura fondamentale della scena artistica britannica, attraverso un insieme di una cinquantina di opere datate dal 1984 ad oggi.
L'esposizione ci mette in contrasto tra desideri e pericoli epidermici, sfugge ai riferimenti, in particolare alla fallocracia del linguaggio filosofico e artistico. Essa propone anche un gioco di dimensioni, dall'intimo al dimostrativo, e di materiali, dalla grana del velluto al gelificante del metallo. Il lavoro di Cathy de Montchaux malconcia le forme e le emozioni fino a lasciare questo sapore nel nostro occhio: quello del metallo sotto la lingua, dove si può persino raccogliersi.

L’exposition nous tiraille entre désirs et dangers épidermiques, malmène les repères, en particulier de la phallocratie du langage philosophique et artistique. Elle propose aussi un jeu de dimensions, de l’intime au démonstratif, et de matières, du grain du velours au glaçant du métal. Le travail de Cathy de Montchaux malaxe les formes comme les émotions jusqu’à laisser ce goût dans notre œil : celui du métal sous la langue, où l’on peut même se recueillir.

La exposición nos arrastra entre deseos y peligros epidérmicos, maloriza los puntos de referencia, en particular de la falocracia del lenguaje filosófico y artístico. También propone un juego de dimensiones, desde lo íntimo a lo demostrativo, y de materiales, desde el grano del terciopelo al gelificante del metal. El trabajo de Cathy de Montchaux maltrata las formas como las emociones hasta dejar ese gusto en nuestro ojo: el del metal bajo la lengua, donde incluso podemos meditarlo.
