Following a series of unexplained incidents, Christine Danné, the rising star of the troupe from "l'Opera de Parys", requests the assistance of her former friend, Doctor Watson, to investigate these mysteries. Sherlock Holmes then sneaks in secretly under the cover of Shirley Cole, Christine’s understudy, not resisting the urge to follow the good doctor. Two hours before the performance, stage manager Mike Charpentier is found dead with a new message from the Phantom by his side. Sherlock Holmes reveals his identity and his first conclusion: the Phantom will attack one of them again before the curtain rises.

The Town Hall stands on the site of the ancient abbey of Saint Peter. Nothing remains of the early Merovingian monastery. The current buildings were erected between 1755 and 1765, then refurbished. On the ground floor, the vaulted galleries of the cloister enclose the patio. The wedding hall and the party hall date from 1896 and 1936 respectively. With its brick and stone architecture, the building is included in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments.
