A few days before embarking on the Thalassa, an oceanographic vessel of the lfremer, Bernard Bourlès presents the 26th PIRATA region in the tropical Atlantic. In these waters, an important network of ocean and weather monitoring buoys is installed and removed each year to better follow and understand ocean currents, their interaction with the atmosphere and to improve weather forecasting.

A quelques jours de son embarquement sur le Thalassa, navire océanographique de l’Ifremer, Bernard Bourlès nous présente la 26èmecampagne Pirata en Atlantique tropical. Dans ces eaux, un important réseau de bouées de mesures marines et météo est installé et relevé chaque année pour mieux suivre et comprendre la circulation de l’océan, ses échanges avec l’atmosphère et améliorer ainsi les prévisions climatiques.
