Whilst waiting for an appointment with a solicitor in Italy, he spends a few days in Paris, where he lived when he was younger. From conversations with his activist daughter to encounters with ghosts from his past, he questions his relationship with the world and, above all, his relationship with women. Has he been fair, respectful and loving?
