City Whispers
An immersive walk through Roubaix, exploring resilience, transformation, and the courage to begin again. Roubaix is often seen as a city facing difficulties, but it also carries a remarkable story of resilience and transformation. This experience invites you to discover the city through the theme of starting over — through its industrial past, its painful decline, and its ongoing effort to renew itself through culture, creativity, and education.
Guided by sound, voice, and atmosphere, you move through the city at a different pace, encountering Roubaix not just as a place, but as a lived emotional landscape. This is more than a walk: it is a journey through memory, change, and hope.
The walk starts and ends near La Piscine Museum, making it a lovely opportunity to extend the experience with a museum visit afterwards.
🎧 Professional headphones are provided, and the experience is lived together as a group. There is also time afterwards to stay, talk, and connect.
Language of the walk: English
Duration: around 1 hour
Meeting point: square Jean Pennel near La Piscine Museum, Roubaix
Age: 12+
The walk will soon also be available in our mobile app CityWhispers if you’d prefer to experience it on your own. But taking part as a group can be especially rich and enjoyable — a chance to meet people and make new connections.
