Built in 1890 on a 14-hectare estate, between vines and fruit trees, the "Château-Picon" is dedicated to welcoming women. It is the work of the Bergerac architect Jean-Jacques Valleton.
A true village in the city, with its park, chapel and buildings of neo-Gothic architecture, the establishment became mixed and took its current name in 1974, marking the beginning of a new mental health policy in France. At the end of the 19th century, it was presented as a model asylum.
These visits will allow you to discover the history of the hospital, punctuated by numerous artistic and cultural traces. They will be led by Olivier Deltheil, guide-interpreter, as well as by the Culture department of the Charles-Perrens Hospital Center.
Site accessible for visitors only on Sunday, September 22.
First visit from 14h to 15h30.
Second visit from 16h to 17h30.
