Die Alliance Française in Peking organisiert im September 2026 eine künstlerische Residenz mit Lorraine Thiria, einer französischen Fotografin und Malerin. Lorraine Thirias künstlerischer Ansatz konzentriert sich auf die Erkundung von Materie oder Materialien (Wandmalereien, Pflanzen, Mineralien usw.) in einer im Wesentlichen abstrakten Form, mit einer Reflexion über das Gedächtnis und die Zeit. Diese Residenz wird zur Produktion einer einzigartigen Ausstellung führen, die im Ausstellungsraum der französisch-chinesischen Freundschaft der Alliance Française in Peking präsentiert wird, das sich auf dem Campus der Universität für Sprachen und Kulturen von Peking befindet. Ergänzend zu der kreativen und wissenschaftlichen Arbeit des Künstlers werden im September in Peking Workshops und öffentliche Begegnungen organisiert.
Die Workshops ermöglichen es dem Publikum, die verschiedenen Phasen des fotografischen Schaffens kennenzulernen - von der Aufnahme und den technischen Einstellungen des Geräts bis hin zur Vorbereitung und Präsentation einer Ausstellung. Der Künstler wird dort auch seine Reflexion über den fotografischen Blick entwickeln, der als die Begegnung zwischen subjektiver Sensibilität und technischer Beherrschung betrachtet wird, insbesondere im Nachhall seiner Arbeit in Peking. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit wird der Forschungsarbeit rund um die Druckmedien gewidmet, die das Herzstück seines künstlerischen Ansatzes im Zusammenhang mit dem Material und der Wahrnehmung von Bildern bilden.
Begegnungen ermöglichen eine Präsentation des künstlerischen Werdegangs der Fotografin und ihrer verschiedenen Ausstellungen, einen Austausch rund um ihre Forschungsresidenz in Peking und die Konzeption der vor Ort realisierten Ausstellung, mit besonderem Augenmerk auf ihren umweltfreundlichen Ansatz. Der Künstler wird auch sein Fotobuch vorstellen. Diese Begegnungen werden auch die Form von Debatten und wechselseitigen Austausch mit chinesischen Künstlern rund um zeitgenössische künstlerische Praktiken und den interkulturellen Dialog annehmen, um die Perspektiven zu vergleichen und den aus der Vielfalt der künstlerischen Ansätze entstandenen Reichtum hervorzuheben. Schließlich wird bei diesen Treffen auch der ökologisch verantwortungsvolle Ansatz des Projekts von der Konzeption bis zur Umsetzung entwickelt.

The Alliance Française of Beijing is organizing an artistic residency in September 2026 with Lorraine Thiria, a French photographer and painter. Lorraine Thiria’s artistic approach is centered on the exploration of matter or materials (murals, plants, minerals, etc.), in an essentially abstract form, with a reflection on memory and time. This residency will lead to the production of a new exhibition, presented in the Franco-Chinese friendship exhibition room of the Alliance Française de Pékin, located on the campus of the Beijing University of Languages and Cultures. This hall, inaugurated in June 2025, hosts high-level multicultural artistic exhibitions throughout the year and is gradually becoming a reference point for artistic and cultural dialogue in Beijing. Through this program, the Alliance Française of Beijing intends to strengthen its anchoring in the cultural landscape of the Chinese capital.
In addition to the artist’s creative and research work, workshops and public meetings will be organized during the month of September in Beijing.
The workshops will allow the public to discover the different stages of the photographic creation process, from the shooting and technical settings of the camera to the preparation and presentation of an exhibition. The artist will also develop his reflection around the photographic gaze, seen as the meeting between a subjective sensitivity and a technical mastery, notably by echoing his work in Beijing. Particular attention will be paid to the research work carried out around printing materials, at the heart of his artistic approach related to material and the perception of images.
Meetings will allow a presentation of the artistic journey of the photographer and her various exhibitions, to discuss about her research residency in Beijing and the design of the exhibition carried out in situ, with particular attention paid to her eco-responsible approach. The artist will also present his photographic book. These meetings will also take the form of debates and exchanges with Chinese artists, around contemporary artistic practices and intercultural dialogue, in order to confront perspectives and highlight the richness born from the diversity of artistic approaches. Finally, the eco-responsible approach of the project, from its conception to its realization, will also be developed during these meetings.

L'Alliance Française di Pechino organizza nel settembre 2026 una residenza artistica con Lorraine Thiria, fotografa e pittrice francese. L'approccio artistico di Lorraine Thiria è incentrato sull'esplorazione della materia o dei materiali (murali, vegetali, minerali, ecc.), in forma essenzialmente astratta, con una riflessione condotta sulla memoria e il tempo. Questa residenza sfocerà nella produzione di una mostra inedita, presentata nella Salle d'exposition de l'amitié franco-chinoise dell'Alliance Française de Pékin, situata all'interno del campus dell'Università delle lingue e culture di Pechino. Questa sala, inaugurata nel giugno 2025, ospita per tutto l'anno esposizioni artistiche multiculturali di alto livello e si afferma progressivamente come un luogo di riferimento per il dialogo artistico e culturale a Pechino. I workshop permetteranno al pubblico di scoprire le diverse fasi del processo di creazione fotografica, dalla ripresa e dalle impostazioni tecniche dell'apparecchio fino alla preparazione e presentazione di una mostra. L'artista svilupperà anche la sua riflessione intorno allo sguardo fotografico, inteso come l'incontro tra una sensibilità soggettiva e una maestria tecnica, in particolare facendo eco al suo lavoro a Pechino. Un'attenzione particolare sarà rivolta al lavoro di ricerca condotto intorno ai supporti di stampa, al centro del suo percorso artistico legato alla materia e alla percezione delle immagini.
Gli incontri consentiranno una presentazione del percorso artistico della fotografa e delle sue diverse esposizioni, di confrontarsi sulla sua residenza di ricerca a Pechino e sulla progettazione dell'esposizione realizzata in situ, con particolare attenzione al suo approccio eco-responsabile. L'artista presenterà anche il suo libro fotografico. Questi incontri prenderanno anche la forma di dibattiti e scambi incrociati con artisti cinesi, intorno alle pratiche artistiche contemporanee e al dialogo interculturale, per confrontare gli sguardi e valorizzare la ricchezza nata dalla diversità delle iniziative artistiche. Infine, l'approccio eco-responsabile del progetto, dalla sua concezione fino alla sua realizzazione, sarà anche sviluppato durante questi incontri.

L’Alliance Française de Pékin organise en septembre 2026 une résidence artistique avec Lorraine Thiria, photographe et peintre française. L’approche artistique de Lorraine Thiria est centrée sur l’exploration de la matière ou des matières (murales, végétales, minérales, etc.), sous forme essentiellement abstraite, avec une réflexion menée sur la mémoire et le temps. Cette résidence aboutira à la production d’une exposition inédite, présentée dans la Salle d’exposition de l’amitié franco-chinoise de l’Alliance Française de Pékin, située au sein du campus de l’Université des langues et cultures de Pékin. En complément du travail de création et de recherche de l’artiste, des ateliers et rencontres grand public seront organisés au pendant le mois de septembre à Pékin.
Les ateliers permettront au public de découvrir les différentes étapes du processus de création photographique, depuis la prise de vue et les réglages techniques de l’appareil jusqu’à la préparation et la présentation d’une exposition. L’artiste y développera également sa réflexion autour du regard photographique, envisagé comme la rencontre entre une sensibilité subjective et une maîtrise technique, notamment en faisant écho à son travail à Pékin. Une attention particulière sera portée au travail de recherche mené autour des supports d’impression, au cœur de sa démarche artistique liée à la matière et à la perception des images.
Des rencontres permettront une présentation du parcours artistique de la photographe et de ses différentes expositions, d’échanger autour de sa résidence de recherche à Pékin et de la conception de l’exposition réalisée in situ, avec une attention particulière portée à sa démarche éco-responsable. L’artiste présentera également son livre photographique. Ces rencontres prendront aussi la forme de débats et d’échanges croisés avec des artistes chinois, autour des pratiques artistiques contemporaines et du dialogue interculturel, afin de confronter les regards et de mettre en valeur la richesse née de la diversité des démarches artistiques. Enfin, la démarche éco-responsable du projet, de sa conception jusqu'à sa réalisation, sera également développée lors de ces rencontres.

La Alianza Francesa de Pekín organiza en septiembre de 2026 una residencia artística con Lorraine Thiria, fotógrafa y pintora francesa. El enfoque artístico de Lorraine Thiria se centra en la exploración de la materia o materiales (murales, vegetales, minerales, etc.) en forma esencialmente abstracta, con una reflexión sobre la memoria y el tiempo. Esta residencia culminará en la producción de una exposición inédita, presentada en la Sala de exposición de la amistad franco-china de la Alianza Francesa de Pekín, situada dentro del campus de la Universidad de las lenguas y culturas de Pekín. Esta sala, inaugurada en junio de 2025, acoge a lo largo del año exposiciones artísticas multiculturales de alto nivel y se afirma progresivamente como un lugar de referencia para el diálogo artístico y cultural en Pekín. A través de esta programación, la Alianza Francesa de Pekín pretende reforzar su anclaje duradero en el paisaje cultural de la capital china. Como complemento del trabajo de creación e investigación del artista, se organizarán talleres y encuentros con el gran público durante el mes de septiembre en Pekín.
Los talleres permitirán al público descubrir las diferentes etapas del proceso de creación fotográfica, desde la toma de imágenes y los ajustes técnicos del aparato hasta la preparación y presentación de una exposición. El artista desarrollará también su reflexión en torno a la mirada fotográfica, concebida como el encuentro entre una sensibilidad subjetiva y un dominio técnico, haciendo eco especialmente de su trabajo en Pekín. Se prestará especial atención al trabajo de investigación realizado en torno a los soportes de impresión, que constituyen el núcleo de su enfoque artístico relacionado con la materia y la percepción de las imágenes.
Los encuentros permitirán una presentación del recorrido artístico de la fotógrafa y de sus diferentes exposiciones, intercambiar opiniones sobre su residencia de investigación en Beijing y el diseño de la exposición realizada in situ, con especial atención a su enfoque ecológico. El artista también presentará su libro fotográfico. Estos encuentros adoptarán también la forma de debates e intercambios cruzados con artistas chinos, en torno a las prácticas artísticas contemporáneas y al diálogo intercultural, con el fin de confrontar los puntos de vista y poner en valor la riqueza nacida de la diversidad de los enfoques artísticos. Por último, el enfoque ecológico del proyecto, desde su concepción hasta su realización, también se desarrollará en estos encuentros.
