212 Photography Istanbul ist heute eine der führenden Plattformen für Fotografie und bildende Kunst in der Türkei. Inspiriert von der pluralistischen Identität Istanbuls, erkundet das Festival die Stadt als lebendiges Territorium, in dem sich Kulturen, Erinnerungen und zeitgenössische Formen des Schaffens kreuzen. Seit 2018 betrachtet er Istanbul nicht mehr als bloße Kulisse, sondern als echten Freiluftausstellungsraum, der die Fotografie in den Rhythmus der Stadt einbindet.
Durch einen Rundgang, der historische Gebäude, Galerien, unabhängige Räume, Buchläden und Kulturstätten verbindet, bietet das Festival ein immersives Erlebnis, bei dem die Bilder mit der Architektur, den Bewohnern und der städtischen Geschichte in Dialog treten. Diese Zirkulation zwischen den Orten macht das Festival zu einer Einladung, Istanbul auf eine andere Weise zu entdecken, zwischen Orient und Occident, Erinnerung und Moderne.
Im Rahmen der Feier des 200-jährigen Jubiläums der Erfindung der Fotografie entwickelt 212 Photography Istanbul in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Institut français de Turquie ein außergewöhnliches Programm in Istanbul, das Ausstellungen umfasst, Konferenzen und Begegnungen rund um die Geschichte und die Veränderungen des zeitgenössischen Bildes.
Das Festival wird auch die Felicités-Ausstellungen, eine große Ausstellung für zeitgenössisches Fotobuch sowie ein Programm von professionellen Begegnungen mit Fotografen, Künstlern, Verlagen, Kuratoren und internationalen Institutionen beherbergen. Konferenzen, Filmvorführungen, Workshops und Portfolio-Lesungen werden diese Plattform für den Austausch und die Reflexion über zeitgenössische Bildpraktiken bereichern.
Innerhalb weniger Jahre hat sich 212 Photography Istanbul zu einem unverzichtbaren Treffpunkt der internationalen Fotoszene entwickelt. Mehr als ein Festival, es ist ein Raum des Experimentierens, der Zirkulation von Blicken und des kulturellen Dialogs, in dem die Fotografie zu einem Werkzeug für die sensible Erkundung der zeitgenössischen Welt und der Veränderungen unserer Gesellschaften wird.

212 Photography Istanbul is now one of the major platforms dedicated to photography and visual arts in Turkey. Inspired by the plural identity of Istanbul, the festival explores the city as a living territory where cultures, memories and contemporary forms of creation intersect. Since 2018, he considers Istanbul not as a simple decor, but as a real open-air exhibition space, integrating photography at the very rhythm of the city.
Through a route linking historic buildings, galleries, independent spaces, bookstores and heritage places, the festival offers an immersive experience where images dialogue with architecture, inhabitants and urban history. This movement between places makes the festival an invitation to discover Istanbul differently, between East and West, memory and modernity.
As part of the celebration of the bicentenary of the invention of photography, 212 Photography Istanbul is developing in collaboration with the French Institute of Turkey an exceptional program in Istanbul, bringing together exhibitions, conferences and meetings around history and the mutations of the contemporary image.
The festival will also host the exhibitions of Les Félicités, a major exhibition dedicated to contemporary photobooks, as well as a program of professional meetings bringing together photographers, artists, publishers, curators and international institutions. Conferences, screenings, workshops and portfolio readings will enrich this platform for exchange and reflection on contemporary image practices.
In a few years, 212 Photography Istanbul has established itself as an essential event on the international photographic scene. More than a festival, it is a space for experimentation, circulation of views and cultural dialogue, where photography becomes a sensitive tool for exploring the contemporary world and the transformations of our societies.

Ispirato all'identità pluralista di Istanbul, il festival esplora la città come un territorio vivente dove si incrociano culture, memorie e forme contemporanee di creazione. Dal 2018, considera Istanbul non più come un semplice scenario, ma come un vero e proprio spazio espositivo a cielo aperto, integrando la fotografia al ritmo della città.
Attraverso un percorso che collega edifici storici, gallerie, spazi indipendenti, librerie e luoghi del patrimonio, il festival propone un'esperienza immersiva in cui le immagini dialogano con l'architettura, gli abitanti e la storia urbana. Questa circolazione tra i luoghi fa del festival un invito a scoprire Istanbul in modo diverso, tra Oriente e Occidente, memoria e modernità.
Nell'ambito della celebrazione del bicentenario dell'invenzione della fotografia, 212 Photography Istanbul sviluppa in collaborazione con l'Institut français de Turquie una programmazione eccezionale a Istanbul che riunisce mostre, conferenze e incontri sulla storia e sulle trasformazioni dell'immagine contemporanea.
Il festival ospiterà anche le esposizioni dei Felicités, una grande mostra dedicata al fotolibro contemporaneo, e un programma di incontri professionali che riuniscono fotografi, artisti, editori, commissari e istituzioni internazionali. Conferenze, proiezioni, workshop e letture di portfolio arricchiranno questa piattaforma di scambi e riflessioni sulle pratiche contemporanee dell'immagine.
Nel giro di pochi anni, 212 Photography Istanbul si è affermata come un appuntamento imperdibile della scena fotografica internazionale. Desde 2018, ya no considera a Estambul como un simple escenario, sino como un verdadero espacio de exposición al aire libre, integrando la fotografía al ritmo mismo de la ciudad.
A través de un recorrido que conecta edificios históricos, galerías, espacios independientes, librerías y lugares patrimoniales, el festival propone una experiencia inmersiva donde las imágenes dialogan con la arquitectura, los habitantes y la historia urbana.
