Learn to observe and try to capture life in motion through drawing. An introduction to sketching ducks and other wintering birds in the harbour from life. The workshop will conclude by the lakeside.
Born in Geneva in 1969, Pierre Baumgart is a naturalist artist and wood engraver. Passionate about the wilderness since childhood, he captures it in drawings and wood engravings. Influenced by the work of Robert Hainard, he has been practising gradient wood engraving since 1994, which he prints in his Geneva studio.
Important information:
Please bring your own materials: sketchbook or drawing pad, pencils and eraser. The workshop will go ahead in bad weather. Please remember to wear suitable clothing and bring an umbrella if necessary.

Apprendre à regarder et tenter de capter en dessin la vie en mouvement. Initiation au dessin sur le vif des canards et autres oiseaux hivernants dans la rade. L’atelier se terminera au bord du lac.
Né à Genève en 1969, Pierre Baumgart est artiste naturaliste et graveur. Passionné par la nature sauvage depuis l’enfance, il la traduit en dessins et gravures sur bois. Marqué par l’œuvre de Robert Hainard, il pratique depuis 1994 la gravure sur bois en dégradé, qu’il imprime dans son atelier genevois.
Information importante :
Chacun.e apporte son matériel: carnet ou bloc à dessin, crayons et gomme. Atelier maintenu en cas de mauvais temps. Pensez à prendre des habits adaptés et un parapluie, le cas échéant.
