About the location

Pavillon des Sources
Parc Saint-Léger, 58320 Pougues-les-Eaux
  • Nievre
  • Bourgogne-Franche-Comté
In addition to a photographic panorama of the Parc Saint-Léger de Pougues-les-Eaux, the "images" of the exhibition of the Pavillon des Sources were composed from "end of century" paintings of academic painters, still today discredited. One sees on some compositions, the island of the contemporary artist Xavier Veilhan, rather well integrated with the site and property of the department of Nièvre. It is from here, under the glass roof of the Pavillon des Sources, near the two pink fountains, that the Water Donors operated. Not all of them were as pretty as Charlotte, painted in 1908 by William Godward, in her old saffron-coloured coat. Not all of them were as undressed as the charming model, perched on its stool, represented by Luis Falero. But the Water Donors always had to be kind and smiling with the curists. Full of attention, they offered visitors a cup or a cup of healing and beneficial water. Any bather who wished to undergo treatment had to report it to the administration office

free of charge and, since it is a glass roof with beautiful blue-sky fonts, as we liked them at the beginning of the last century, all the interior remains visible from the Parc Saint-Léger.
