Remembering, transmitting, telling, writing... this day dedicated to memories aims to deepen this notion through various free activities for all audiences at MEG.

The poet, author and writer Denis Pourawa will be present at the MEG all day to lead two activities that he has co-constructed with the Geneva artist Myriam Boucris (discovery visit for children) and the MEG (writing workshop) around the notion of memory.

Programme:

  • 10.15-11am: Participation in the children's discovery tour - Encounter with the ghost net "special New Caledonia"
  • 11.15-12pm: Participation in the children's discovery tour - Encounter with the ghost net "special New Caledonia"

The activity is suitable for children aged 2 to 5 years old accompanied by an adult but is open to everyone with or without children.

The activity takes place twice during the day, once from 10.15am to 11am and again from 11.15am to 12pm.

This event is free of charge and without registration (subject to availability). Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the start of the activity at the MEG reception.

  • 1.30-3.30 pm: Writing workshop on memory
  • 4-6 pm: Writing workshop on memory

These writing workshops start with a visit to the showcase "The Kanaks, first inhabitants of New Caledonia" which will then take you to the library where you will be accompanied in writing a memory, a thought or a fiction evoked by various Kanak bamboo engravings.

These workshops are free and open to all, there is no need to have a particular level of writing skills to participate. Materials are provided during the workshops.

The workshops will be held in French.

The writing workshop will take place twice during the day, once from 1:30 to 3:30 pm and then from 4 to 6 pm.

Places are limited and reservations must be made by email to biblio.meg@ville-ge.ch, stating your full name, telephone number and the number of people accompanying you.
