The revival of the sound archives is back with an extra subtlety this year: the presence of the public! An incredible opportunity to come and listen to vinyl records in the MEG temporary exhibition.

The recent acquisition of two series of LPs (33 t. vinyl records), from the Samuel Baud-Bovy ethnomusicological collection and a transfer from the Musicology Library of the UniGe, has made it possible to create a set of about 400 hundred duplicate records in the MEG sound archives. In addition, about ten years ago, the MEG received a monumental collection of more than 5000 LPs, released on a multitude of labels around the world, the majority of which date from the 1960s-70s. This collection was put together by Marco Botta, an avid music lover. It includes a series of original records in mint condition that have never been heard before! This exceptional collection presents an exhaustive panorama of the world of popular music, from all five continents. To highlight the acquisition of these discographic treasures, the MEG invites artists to share a few selected pieces with the public for an evening.

Seafood coulis served as soup, Bisque also refers to a Geneva-based collective - focused on niche sounds - that spills out tours, mixed creation residencies and troubled evenings.
Founded in June 2019, Bisque provides the impetus for the Gazouz sessions for which it oversees the artistic direction, as well as for "Prise de Bisque". Two concepts articulated around sound experimentation, popular and niche currents from the Arab world and Europe that Bisque intertwines during its "Zouz" creation residencies. Its programming - essentially composed of live sets - deconstructs the notion of music, concerts and parties to focus on their performative dimension. To date, the collective has organised more than thirty events and tours in Switzerland, France and Germany, in collaboration with the Rez-Usine, the Ecurie, the Walden, the Tunisian festival Sailing Stones, Bongo Joe, Black Movie, the Biennale des Espaces d'Art Indépendant de Genève and also the festival Face Z, Fri-Son, Pan African Music Magazine...
