Heritage Day Guided tours at the Wallpaper Museum
At first glance, wallpaper and architecture seem to be very different disciplines. And yet, they maintain a close relationship: if one is the art of building, the other is the art of dressing the walls. The new exhibition, "Perspectives, quand le mur s'habille d'architecture", highlights the richness and diversity of the links between wallpaper and architecture through more than 160 documents, including some sixty unpublished pieces.
On the second floor of the museum, the exhibition "Le Papier peint au fil des saisons", invites you to rediscover the beauty and singularity of these four periods of the year, omnipresent in our daily life. Wallpaper motifs, whether old or contemporary, use stereotyped imagery or on the contrary emancipate from these codes and renew our vision of the four seasons.
The permanent spaces of the museum offer to discover the techniques of wallpaper making and the panoramic decors of the Zuber manufacture.
