Every year, Villeneuve d'Ascq pays tribute to the 86 victims of the massacre of Ascq, perpetrated on the night of 1 to 2 April 1944 by Nazi troops. This tragedy, engraved in the collective memory, symbolizes the price of freedom and the duty to pass it on to future generations.

The gathering will begin in front of the town hall of Ascq before the departure of the procession to the places of memory:
- Le Tertre des Massacrés, place of meditation in tribute to the executed.
- The cemetery of Ascq, where the victims of this tragedy are buried.
- Fort Seclin, last place of commemoration of this day of remembrance.

Chaque année, Villeneuve d'Ascq rend hommage aux 86 victimes du massacre d'Ascq, perpétré dans la nuit du 1er au 2 avril 1944 par les troupes nazies. Cette tragédie, gravée dans la mémoire collective, symbolise le prix de la liberté et le devoir de transmission aux générations futures.
Le rassemblement débutera devant la mairie d’Ascq avant le départ du cortège vers les lieux de mémoire :
- Le Tertre des Massacrés, lieu du recueillement en hommage aux fusillés.
- Le cimetière d'Ascq, où reposent les victimes de cette tragédie.
- Le Fort de Seclin, dernier lieu de commémoration de cette journée du souvenir.

Elk jaar brengt Villeneuve d'Ascq hulde aan de 86 slachtoffers van het bloedbad van Ascq, dat in de nacht van 1 op 2 april 1944 door nazi-troepen werd gepleegd. Deze tragedie, die in het collectieve geheugen gegrift is, symboliseert de prijs van vrijheid en de plicht om deze door te geven aan toekomstige generaties.
