Anne Collod delves into the lush work of Ruth Saint-Denis and her partner Ted Shawn. Precursors at the beginning of the 20th century of a dance both sensual and spiritual fed by the contributions of Indian and Asian dances, they create together a prolific work crossed by the notion of otherness and exoticism. From the work of transmission of the solos (noted in Laban kineticography) and their interpretation, Anne Collod will question with Shantala Shivalingappa, expert in Kuchipudi and trained in Baratha Natyam_, the borrowings, misappropriations and rewritings made by Ruth Saint-Denis. They are also interested in how the Kuchipudi_ plays with representations of the genre, to feed and trouble them.
