Gretel and Hansel by La Manivelle Theatre
Lecture / Musique (from 6 years - 45'). Text by Suzanne Lebeau (Québec) – Editions Théâtrales Jeunesse Mise en jeu François Gérard. Interpretation Anne-Sophie Goubet, Eric Desport and Antonin Vanneuville (musician)
In this rereading of the famous tale of the Brothers Grimm, the Quebec author Suzanne Lebeau reverses the order of the names… This is an indication of his approach to the theme of sister-brother ties, as the text focuses on this relationship put to the test. While relying on the stages and subjects of known history (poverty, abandonment, fear of being eaten), writing, punctuated by narratives or dialogues, explores strong situations by alternating disorder, tenderness and touches of humor. The play of this reading in movement and space, with a musician on the board, has fun with adult characters who tell each other their adventures as children. Replicas, sound universes, playful scenography complement each other to better relive this journey in complicity with the public.
