Fréquence Grenouille is an annual amphibian and wetland awareness campaign. It is necessary to protect these species and rare environments that have suffered many damage and destruction.
Very rich ecosystems, wetlands provide many functions essential to biological balances, of which man is often and directly beneficiary.
These environments regulate the exchanges between surface water and groundwater, and are true filters and barometers attesting to the preservation of the quality of water necessary for all life.
Since the beginning of the 20th century, two thirds of wetlands have disappeared in France. They are currently estimated to continue to disappear at the rate of about 10,000 hectares per year, with an extraordinary procession of animals and plants.
Follow in the footsteps of the Relais Nature animators for a walk through the wetlands offered by La Gîte. The opportunity to discover the riches, importance and fragility of the ponds and their inhabitants.
