Beer Experience Lille 2020
From 3 July to 30 August, L'Echappée Bière, Culture B and Lille Grand Palais are organising a major beer exhibition. On the program, a discovery circuit of 5000 years of beer history, structured around exhibition spaces, fun and immersive experiences, sensory workshops, tastings and an entertainment program throughout the summer.
"Beer Experience" offers a tour to discover beer, since Antiquity (Mesopotamia, Egypt and Gaul), the Middle Ages (appearance of hops in beer, key role of abbeys), the technical revolution of the nineteenth century (yeast control by Pasteur, discovery of industrial cold, appearance of industrial breweries...), the 21st century (revolution of microbreweries, appearance of new styles, marketing & the importance of the image in beer) and opens a door to what beer will be tomorrow (recycling and reuse, beer tourism, etc.).
You will discover in particular: - An experimental indoor hops & a field of malting barley; - The reproduction and tasting of cervoise and antique beer (sikaru); - The exhibition of works of art & street art related to beer - The reconstitution of a laboratory and a brewery late nineteenth-early twentieth, and a contemporary brewery with malt crushing workshop; - A jacuzzi with essential oils of hops (provide swimsuit and towel); - A giant beer wall; - Many archival films; - An Escape Game for brewing; - A journey for children
The route ends with a tasting in the bar area managed by the teams of La Capsule, the must-see craft beer bar in Lille. A shop area is also available. Finally, Beer Experience will transform Lille Grand Palais into a real place of life and appointments throughout the summer through an event program and thematic evenings (special week for the Belgian National Day, night, etc.)
