Built in 1489 by the Lord François de Caumont, the castle of Milandes enjoys a wonderful panorama on the valley of the Dordogne. In the past manorial house, it is restored in 1900 by a French industrialist who makes build tours(towers, ballots), turrets, terraces, balustrades and many sculptures in a typically Gothic style. In 1908 is then drawn a regular garden and an environmental garden thanks to the architect landscapist Jules Vacherot. It is in 1947 when he(it) becomes the property of big(great) Joséphine Baker, artist, Resistance fighter, activist and generous mother. The regular garden such as it had been drawn in 1908 has restore and just been inaugurated in June, 2016, it is decorated with an exceptional route(course) of water.
